That this House congratulates Connor McElwaine, a 34 year old former teacher from Clydebank, on completing an extraordinary 18,000 kilometre cycling journey from Canberra Avenue in Dalmuir to Canberra, Australia; notes that the remarkable expedition spanned nearly a year across 23 countries and involved climbing over 250,000 metres, the equivalent of ascending Mount Everest more than 12 times; praises his dedication to raising over £5,200 for Venture Scotland, a youth-led organisation delivering outdoor-based programmes to help young adults discover their self-worth and hope for the future; applauds the support of Connor’s family and the generosity of all those who contributed to the fundraising effort; and wishes Connor the very best as he embarks on his cycle home through New Zealand, the USA, and Europe, back to Clydebank.
