Motion text

That this House notes with deep concern Coventry City Council’s decision to renew its £750,000 children’s services contract with the US firm Palantir; believes that a company with a well-documented history of profiting from providing data surveillance infrastructure to immigration enforcement agencies, military entities, and the Israeli government to commit genocide and impose apartheid against Palestinians has no place in the delivery of UK public services; expresses solidarity with the residents, campaigners, and community members demanding Coventry City Council to immediately cancel this contract; shares their concern that public money is being funnelled to multinational corporations at a time when essential local services face budgetary constraints and workers face the risk of job cuts; rejects the use of local authorities as testing grounds for Big Tech surveillance systems; calls on the Government to ensure greater ethical oversight in public procurements; and urges Coventry City Council to immediately cancel its contract with Palantir and protect the integrity of its community services.
