That this House recognises the importance of National Cholesterol Month in the UK, celebrated in October each year and hosted by HEART UK – The Cholesterol Charity; notes that this campaign raises awareness of cholesterol as a significant risk factor for cardiovascular disease, and promotes lifestyle swaps for better heart health; highlights that 50% of adults in the UK have high cholesterol; further notes that there are things that people can do to reduce their cholesterol, such as making sure they get their cholesterol tested, following medical advice, and making lifestyle adjustments such as improving their diet and increasing physical activity; acknowledges the work of HEART UK in raising awareness of cholesterol and its impacts; and further recognises that everyone has a role to play in improving the nation's heart health.
