That this House commends Scotmid members, customers and colleagues, including those in Falkirk, for raising £22,000 in just four weeks for the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Venezuela Earthquake Appeal; notes that this total was achieved through voluntary 10p donations at the point of sale in partnership with micro-donation charity Pennies; recognises the devastating impact of the earthquakes that struck Venezuela earlier this year, causing widespread destruction and leaving thousands of people dead or injured; welcomes the vital work of DEC charities and their local partners in providing emergency shelter, food, clean water and medical care to affected communities; and thanks Scotmid and its members, customers and colleagues for demonstrating how small acts of generosity can collectively make a significant difference to people in urgent need.
