Motion text
That this House notes that households reliant on Liquefied Petroleum Gas and heating oil receive no equivalent protection to the energy price cap available to mains gas and electricity customers; recognises that many rural and off-grid households depend on these fuels as a necessity rather than a choice; is concerned that such households face greater price volatility and higher upfront costs; and calls on the Government to consider measures to provide fairer consumer protections, including greater price transparency, stronger supplier standards and mechanisms to help spread costs throughout the year.
