Motion text
That this House is deeply concerned by the poor delivery of unequal access to cancer treatment in rural areas, where too many patients face long journeys for treatment, often after weeks of waiting for it to begin; recognises calls for the sector cancer services to be properly resourced and for specialist expertise to be balanced with equitable local access; and calls on the Government to ensure the National Cancer Plan is deliverable in rural areas through clear system accountability, local workforce planning, including specialist cancer nurses, and investment in satellite cancer services and radiotherapy capacity in underserved communities, so that postcode where a patient lives never determines the care they receive.
