Orkney and Shetland girls’ participation in sport

That this House welcomes new research showing that Orkney and Shetland have the smallest gender gap in sports participation in Scotland; recognises the strong participation of girls and young women across the Northern Isles; celebrates the contribution of local sports clubs, schools, coaches and volunteers in providing opportunities for young people; and commends Orkney and Shetland’s continued efforts to encourage women and girls to take part in sport and physical activity.
