Motion text
That this House recognises the importance of pubs and social clubs across the UK as pillars of local communities; understands the crucial role they play in providing employment and sanctuary for people across Scotland and the wider country; further recognises the positive contribution they make to mental health and wellbeing, particularly in combating loneliness and social isolation; celebrates the wealth of incredible pubs and social clubs in Glasgow South West constituency; marks its sincere regret and sadness at the fact that the UK loses, on average, one pub a day; supports the measures being put in place to protect the hospitality sector; and calls on the Scottish Government to match the business rates cuts, saving each premises approximately £1,100 per year.
