Motion text

That this House notes the existence in draft of a Medical Treatment (Advance Directives) Bill promoted by the Voluntary Euthanasia Society; further notes that this draft Bill provides for the legislation of the killing of patients by starvation and dehydration; expresses its horror at such moves to involve members of the caring profession in euthanasia; and calls on honourable Members to affirm their opposition to any moves to legalise euthanasia in Britain and their support for the encouragement of the hospice movement in its work in caring for the terminally ill.
