Motion text

That this House notes that 10 of the recommendations made by the Fennell Inquiry into the King's Cross fire have not yet been implemented, including two which the report described as 'most important' and to be implemented 'without delay'; is particularly concerned that there are still 38 wooden escalators in service; is dismayed that the Minister for London Transport and London Underground have told the honourable Members for Hornsey and Wood Green and Hampstead and Highgate that no time-table has been set for the implementation of the outstanding recommendations; and urges the Government to assure the safety of passengers on the Underground by taking action to ensure these recommendations are implemented as speedily as possible.
