Motion text

That this House congratulates Lancashire County Council on the completion of its Touch-and-Walk system which has installed facilities for blind pedestrians at all staggered pelican crossings in Lancashire; recognises that this achievement, making Lancashire the first highway authority to complete such a programme, is part of the outstanding contribution by the Lancashire Highways Authority to the mobility of visually impaired people; and urges the Government to fund such extensions to real equality across the country.
