That this House congratulates the many thousands of Italians who supported demonstrations in Milan and other Italian cities on 25th April to mark the 49th anniversary of the liberation of Italy from Fascist dictatorship; recognises the concerns expressed by many in Italy at the presence of the neo-Fascist National Alliance in the future government coalition; is disturbed by the antisemitic comments attributed to Irene Pivetti, MP, the newly elected Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies in the Italian Parliament and member of the Northern League, as reported in L'Indipendente on 13th November 1993; and welcomes the role of the Inter-Parliamentary Council Against Antisemitism in drawing attention to the growing menace of antisemitism in Europe.
