Motion text

That this House notes that the Leader of the Opposition made a number of allegations about the use of cars by hospital trusts at Prime Minister's questions on 15th March; regrets that the Right honourable and learned Gentleman did not check his facts; invites him to acknowledge that a large proportion of the cars concerned enable workers in the NHS to deliver services effectively and efficiently and to agree that many of those who use these cars perform a vital role in providing health care in the community; invites him also to confirm that, contrary to the Right honourable learned Gentleman's allegations and the incorrect figures concocted by the honourable Member for Sheffield, Brightside, the amount spent on cars by Kingston Hospital, Kingston-on-Thames is decreasing and that the figures cited for St James University Hospital Trust are misleading; hopes he will now congratulate the NHS on treating more patients than ever before and cutting waiting times; and demands that the Right honourable learned Gentleman for Monklands East retracts his allegations, admits that his information was incorrect and corrects his mis-information.
