Motion text

That this House demands to know from the Japanese Government the fate of the 350 whale carcases slaughtered by the whale processing ship 'Nisshin Maru' under the guise of so-called scientific research and, in particular, how much of the whale meat will be sold in restaurants; believes that the slaughter of whales is an act of unspeakable barbarism which flies in the face of civilised behaviour; insists that the Japanese Government announce an immediate end to future slaughter and that European Economic Community countries take appropriate sanctions against Japan until that country conforms with world opinion in respect of whale conservation.
